Book Baskets Partnership with Community Dental Center
Book Baskets was started in 1996 by Mildred Abraham who wanted to create a way to get lightly used books, like the ones her grandchildren owned but would not keep forever, into the hands of children 
who had few or no books of their own. She assembled a board and began collecting books through a few area schools. Things grew from there and today Book Baskets is collecting books from 25 schools, and giving out over 11,000 books a year in Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
